What you can do

A polished single-player memory-match card game (in-app brand "Pairs") built with Expo / React Native. Players flip cards two at a time to find matching pairs across three board sizes, racing to clear the board in the fewest moves and the fastest time. The game logic is pure client state, so play works without any backend, but persisting scores and the global leaderboard runs on the player's own Supabase project, so the app opens on a Connect screen and then a sign-in gate before scores are stored.

Data model

customers
One row per signed-in player (mirrors auth.users) holding email and display name; readable only by the owner.
scores
One immutable row per finished game (owner_id, denormalised player_name, difficulty, moves, time_seconds) powering the global leaderboard and personal bests.

Backend

Row Level Security on both tables: customers is readable only by its owner (id = auth.uid()); scores is world-readable to any signed-in player, insert-only by the owner, and player_name on insert must equal the owner's real display_name (no impersonation). No update/delete policies, so scores are immutable.
Trigger handle_new_customer (SECURITY DEFINER) fires on the on_auth_user_created trigger after a new auth.users insert to auto-create the matching customers row, deriving the display name from signup metadata, the email local-part, or 'Player'.
Realtime: the public.scores table is added to the supabase_realtime publication for a live-updating leaderboard.
No SECURITY DEFINER RPCs beyond the trigger function, no storage buckets, and no Edge Functions.
Indexes scores_board_idx (difficulty, moves asc, time_seconds asc, created_at asc) for the leaderboard ordering and scores_owner_idx for owner lookups.
