A complete trivia starter with a dark royal-purple theme. Six categories (Science, Movies, Geography, History, Sports, Music), each a coloured cover tile with a difficulty pill and question count. Eight-question timed rounds with a draining timer bar; tap an option and the badge flashes correct or incorrect. Results show an animated score count-up, accuracy and a rank chip, plus a global leaderboard with a podium, live over Supabase Realtime. Questions are bundled; players sign in with Supabase.

What you can do

A complete trivia game starter built with Expo and React Native. Six colour-coded categories (Science, Movies, Geography, History, Sports, Music) each run an eight-question timed round: a draining timer bar counts down, a per-question dot strip tracks progress, and you tap an option to answer with the mark badge flashing correct or incorrect on reveal. A results screen shows an animated score count-up, accuracy and your leaderboard rank, and a global leaderboard ranks every player with a gold/silver/bronze podium that updates live. The quiz questions are bundled in the app, but the leaderboard runs on your own Supabase project, so it does not work the moment you open it: the app first shows a Connect screen until you wire up Supabase (or tap Preview with sample data), then players sign in with email/password before scores are saved.

Data model

customers
One row per signed-in player, mirroring auth.users; holds email and the display name used as the leaderboard name.
scores
One immutable row per finished round (score, category, correct, total, and a denormalised player_name snapshot) powering the leaderboard.

Backend

Supabase Postgres with Row Level Security on both tables. customers: a player can read only their own row (no client writes). scores: any signed-in player can read the global board, but can insert only their own row with player_name pinned to their real display name, and there are no update/delete policies so scores are immutable once submitted.
Trigger handle_new_customer (SECURITY DEFINER, fired by trigger on_auth_user_created after insert on auth.users) auto-creates the customers row on signup, deriving the display name from sign-up metadata, the email local-part, or 'Player'.
Realtime: public.scores is added to the supabase_realtime publication so the leaderboard updates live.
No SECURITY DEFINER RPCs beyond the trigger function, no Edge Functions, and no storage buckets. Quiz questions are bundled app content (src/lib/questions.ts), not stored in the database.
