A complete AI writing assistant starter. Describe what you want and pick a segmented tone + length to compose a draft; edit it in a serif document with debounced autosave, a 'Saved' pill, and a live word count. The AI action bar runs Rewrite / Continue / Shorten transforms returning a suggestion you Accept or Redo, plus Copy. The AI runs in a Supabase Edge Function that holds your provider key server-side, and the first draft plus each accepted change are saved as restorable revisions.

What you can do

A polished AI writing assistant for your phone. You describe what you want to write, pick a tone (Friendly, Professional, Casual, or Confident) and a length (Short, Medium, or Long), and it drafts a first version that types out in front of you. From there you edit in a calm serif document that autosaves as you go and keeps a live word count, and the AI action bar can rewrite, continue, or shorten the text, returning a suggestion you accept or redo. Your first draft and every accepted AI change are saved as versions you can restore. The app runs on your own Supabase project, so you first connect a backend and sign in before your drafts come to life (there is an optional sample-data preview to look around first).

Data model

customers
One row per signed-up user (mirrors auth.users), holding email, display_name, and created_at.
documents
Your saved drafts, with owner_id, title, body, the chosen tone and length, and created_at/updated_at timestamps.
revisions
Snapshots of a document's body with a source (compose, rewrite, continue, shorten, or manual), forming the restorable version history.

Backend

Row Level Security is owner-scoped on all three tables: customers can only read their own row (no client insert/update), and documents have full CRUD where owner_id = auth.uid().
The revisions policy allows full CRUD only when owner_id = auth.uid() AND an EXISTS check confirms the parent document is owned by the same user.
An on_auth_user_created trigger runs handle_new_customer (SECURITY DEFINER) to auto-create the customers row on signup, defaulting display_name from metadata, the email prefix, or 'Writer'.
A trg_documents_touch BEFORE UPDATE trigger runs touch_updated_at to keep documents.updated_at current on every change.
Realtime is enabled on the documents table for live multi-device draft sync, with REPLICA IDENTITY FULL so DELETE payloads carry owner_id for the client filter.
AI generation runs in a Supabase Edge Function named generate (Deno), which holds the ANTHROPIC_API_KEY as a server-side secret, is protected by verify_jwt, validates inputs and caps length, and is provider-swappable without changing the app contract.
No storage buckets are used; the only SECURITY DEFINER function is the handle_new_customer signup trigger.
Indexes: documents_owner_idx (owner_id, updated_at desc) for the drafts list and revisions_document_idx (document_id, created_at desc) for version history.
