Beacon is a local-first live streaming app built with Sanic UI. Seeded channels and streams ship with the app: browse what is live and what is upcoming, follow channels, set reminders for scheduled streams, and open a stream room with a simulated viewer count, a live chat you can post into and tips. Your profile keeps your display name, follows and watch history, with a guarded restore of the sample channels. Everything lives on the device with no account, backend or setup.

What you can do

Beacon is a dark, local-first live streaming app that feels busy the moment it opens. Seeded channels and streams live on the device: the Live tab shows who is on right now with categories and viewer counts, Schedule lists what is coming up with reminders, and Following gathers the channels you follow. Open a stream to join a room with a simulated viewer count, a live chat you can post into and a tip action, and every stream you open lands in your watch history. Your profile holds your display name and a guarded restore of the sample channels. Nothing leaves the phone: channels, streams, follows, chat and tips all live in a persisted store with no account, backend or setup.

Backend

Local-first by design: the app opens directly into Live and every workflow works without network access, account creation or environment variables.
There is no video pipeline: stream rooms simulate viewers and chat activity so the product can be designed and tested before a media backend exists.
A granular Zustand store owns follow, reminder, chat, tip and history actions; AsyncStorage rehydrates the snapshot on launch.
Sample channels are seeded once on first launch and can be restored from Profile after confirmation.
No remote database, server function, environment variable or API key is required.
