Commons is a local-first community forum built with Sanic UI. Seeded categories and threads ship with the app: browse the home feed, drill into a category, open a thread to read nested replies, vote on threads and replies, bookmark what you want to keep and post new threads and replies. Your profile holds a display name, karma and a guarded restore of the sample threads. Everything lives on the device with no account, backend or setup.

Use this template

What you can do

Commons is a warm, local-first community forum that feels lived-in the moment it opens. Seeded categories and threads live on the device: the Home tab lists threads with authors, categories and vote counts, Categories drills into each topic, and a thread opens into its body and nested replies where you can vote, reply and bookmark. Post a new thread from the New tab, keep the threads you care about under Saved, and manage your display name and karma on Profile, which also offers a guarded restore of the sample threads. Nothing leaves the phone: categories, threads, replies, votes and bookmarks all live in a persisted store with no account, backend or setup.

No remote database, server function, environment variable or API key is required.
