A complete dating app starter built on Supabase. An animated photo swipe deck with peek-cards, weighted drag, and LIKE/NOPE/SUPER stamps, a Rewind/Pass/Super/Like dock, and a three-stage "It's a match!" celebration the instant a like is mutual. Plus a bottom-sheet filter for show-me, age, and distance, a Matches screen with new-match avatars and recency-sorted chats, live 1:1 threads, and a profile editor that doubles as onboarding. A Postgres trigger creates matches; RLS keeps it all private.

A complete dating app built with Expo/React Native and Supabase: a photo-led swipe deck, a celebration the instant a like is mutual, and one-to-one chat with your matches. It runs entirely on your own Supabase project, so it opens on a Connect screen until you add your keys and apply the schema; after that you sign in, set up your profile, and the deck comes to life. There is no mock data - every profile, swipe, match, and message is real (an optional 'preview with sample data' mode lets you look around before connecting).

Data model

profiles
One row per user (display name, age, gender, interested_in, headline, bio, city, verified, photos, prompts, interests, and match preferences).
swipes
One row per swiper→swiped pair recording a pass, like, or super; a re-swipe overwrites it.
matches
One row per matched pair (a_id < b_id) with last_message_at for recency sorting; created by a trigger, never by the client.
messages
Chat messages within a match (match_id, sender_id, body).
match_reads
Per-user read marker for a match (drives the unread dot).

Backend

Row Level Security on every table, scoping rows to the signed-in user: any authenticated user can read profiles but write only their own; swipes/match_reads are restricted to you; matches are read-only to the two participants (no client insert/update); messages are readable/sendable only within a match you're in and only as yourself.
Trigger trg_match_on_like runs the SECURITY DEFINER function matches_on_mutual_like() to create a match the instant a like/super is mutual (sorted a_id < b_id, on-conflict no-op).
Trigger trg_bump_last_message runs the SECURITY DEFINER function bump_match_last_message() to keep matches.last_message_at fresh for recency sorting.
Trigger trg_lock_profile_verified runs the SECURITY DEFINER function lock_profile_verified() to lock the server-owned 'verified' badge so a client can't self-grant it.
Trigger on_auth_user_created runs the SECURITY DEFINER function handle_new_user() to auto-create a starter profile on signup.
RPC discover_candidates(p_limit) (SECURITY INVOKER, RLS-respecting) returns the deck server-side: complete profiles you haven't swiped, matching your show-me preference and age range, excluding yourself.
RPC match_overview() (SECURITY DEFINER, still scoped to auth.uid() in the WHERE) returns one row per match with the other person's profile, last message, and your read marker in a single round-trip (avoids N+1).
Realtime: profiles, swipes, matches, messages, and match_reads are added to the supabase_realtime publication; matches and messages use REPLICA IDENTITY FULL so filtered DELETE events carry the full old row.
Storage: a single public bucket 'profile-photos'; objects are world-readable, but insert/update/delete are restricted to files under the owner's user-id folder. No Edge Functions.
